Amy Cragg will go down as one of America’s greatest distance runners. Among the highlights of her athletics career include being the 2015 American Champion in the Marathon, the 2012 American Champion in the 10,000 meters, and a qualifier for the 2012 Summer Olympics in the marathon.

While at Arizona State University she would win the 2005 indoor 5000m Championship, rack up a total of 10 All-America honors, and become the 2006 NCAA Champion at 5,000m. Upon leaving ASU she trained under the guidance of Ray Treacy until 2015.

In 2011 she beat her 5000m personal best by 34 seconds to come runner up at the US Championships. This qualified her to the World Championships in Daegu South Korea, where she went on to make the final. 2011 would also be the same year she made her Marathon debut at the LA Marathon, placing second and the top American. Bouncing back from a difficult Marathon Olympic Trials for London, Amy would win the 10,000m at the 2012 US Olympic Trials. At the London 2012 Summer Olympics, she finish 11th in 31:10. She then qualified in the 10,000m at the 2013 World Championship in Moscow, Russia.

Turning back toward the Marathon, in 2014 she placed 5th at the 2014 Chicago Marathon. And in 2016, Amy won the US Olympic Trials in the Marathon and would go on to finish 9th at the Rio Olympics. In 2017 she won a global medal in the marathon at the World Championships in London, earning Bronze. She followed this Bronze, with another Bronze at the Tokyo Marathon the following year in a personal best 2:21.42.

Upon finishing her professional running career, she moved to the Research Triangle of North Carolina in order to develop the Puma Elite Running Team where she currently coaches.
